About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). My therapy approach is strength-based aimed to empower and motivate individuals. My style tends to be eclectic, though I find I mainly utilize mindfulness based therapy techniques such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Additionally, I have had extensive training in narrative therapy which is founded on the premise that “the person is not the problem, the problem is the problem.” Narrative therapy can be useful in helping individuals to reclaim a sense of self-agency and to "re-story" their lives in a manner that is meaningful and aligns with their fundamental values. Further, I strive to learn about and apply other modalities such as somatic therapy, internal family systems (IFS) and psychedelic assisted therapy.

For many years, prior to becoming a licensed counselor, I worked in the health and wellness industry. I enjoyed helping to support individuals in their quest to improve their health through means of nutrition, lifestyle changes and by taking a holistic, natural approach to fortifying one's health.  I was inspired to pursue my formal training as a counselor because I often observed that as one attempted to take their health into their own hands, they would make some progress but it was evident that people's health matters were not solely a physical issue but also rooted in emotional matters. It was then that I realized that tending to one's physical health was vital but not the only aspect of what must be cared for as the body and mind are inextricably intertwined.

When I am working with individuals in a session, I take into account that we are all multi-faceted and life brings forth many challenges and opportunities. Therefore, there are things in one's life that are in accordance and things that might be in discord.  I believe it is important to tend to one's well-being from a mind, body, spirit understanding in order to regain, sustain and maintain momentum in one's life.
